Emilie practices mainly in the area of family law. She is fluent in French and has experience assisting Francophone clients.
Emilie has experience negotiating fair outcomes for her clients outside of the Court process. Sometimes, the Court’s intervention is required to achieve a fair result. Emilie also has broad family law litigation experience, having run various Court hearings, including multiple family law trials in both Provincial Court and the Court of King’s Bench.
Before becoming a lawyer, Emilie worked with children of all ages. She obtained a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and worked as a teacher for Edmonton Public Schools. Emilie also worked as a Child Development Supervisor in daycare and out of school care. She looks forward to drawing upon this experience to understand the unique struggles of every family she works with.
Emilie volunteers as a ski instructor for the Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing at Rabbit Hill. She maintains ties to the University of Alberta law school by volunteering with the moot program. While in law school, Emilie co-founded the Francophone Law Students Association, volunteered for Student Legal Services, and competed in the McIntyre/Sopinka moot.
In her spare time, Emilie enjoys being outdoors with her dog, Charlie, downhill skiing, and trying new recipes.
