Emilie practices mainly in the area of family law. She is fluent in French and has experience assisting Francophone clients. Emilie has experience assisting clients with divorces involving farms and businesses. She has also developed knowledge and expertise with parenting disputes and litigation.
Emilie has broad family law litigation experience, having run various Court hearings, including multiple family law trials in the Court of Justice (formerly the Provincial Court) and the Court of King’s Bench. She also has experience representing clients in legally binding dispute resolution processes.
Before becoming a lawyer, Emilie worked with children of all ages. She obtained a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and worked as a teacher for Edmonton Public Schools. Emilie also worked as a Child Development Supervisor in daycare and out of school care. She looks forward to drawing upon this experience to understand the unique struggles of every family she works with.
Emilie maintains ties to the University of Alberta law school by volunteering with the moot program. While in law school, Emilie co-founded the Francophone Law Students Association, volunteered for Student Legal Services, and competed in the McIntyre/Sopinka moot.
In her spare time, Emilie enjoys spending time with her family, downhill skiing, and trying new recipes.
